Sample Customized Academic Program: Technology Lecture Series & English Language Skills
An organization interested in offering a study abroad program for international university students in engineering and computer science requested a short-term intensive program to provide project-oriented studies on five different but interrelated topics. The organization also wanted the students to be able to speak and present on the topics studied during the program. To help accomplish the group’s goal, we created a five-module, full-time F-1 eligible program. It was offered on the UW Seattle campus.
Program Description
This three-week (75-hour) content and English program was designed for international students pursing technology-related degrees. Students studied five module topics with different subject area experts and took a daily English language presentation skills course over three weeks. At the end of this program, students presented a synthesis of their subject area studies in English.
UW IELP can offer programs focusing on a variety of content areas. Contact us with your request to find out more.
