Sample Customized Professional Program: Public Leadership & Management Lecture Series
An overseas organization working with a government agency requested a short-term intensive training for public officials to study government and governance in the United States. To help accomplish this goal, we created a public leadership and management lecture series for them. This customized training was offered on the UW Seattle campus.
Program Description
This seven-day program was designed to advance the public leadership and management knowledge and capabilities for visiting government officials. Faculty from the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy & Governance facilitated a series of lectures that provided an overview of the U.S. government and introduced current frameworks, innovative approaches, and effective skills for public leadership and management. To complement the lecture sessions, the visiting officials also attended informational meetings and engaged in discussions with federal, state, and local county government representatives and officials based in Seattle. At the end of this short training, the visiting officials participated in a scenario analysis exercise, connecting their program learnings and experiences to their professional roles in their home country.
UW IELP can offer training programs focusing on a variety of content areas. Contact us with your request to find out more.
